UPDATE!!

Imagine i come to give everyone an update on my MONTH and i see my blog has been terminated by a very frustrated friend (hush Adrian). Don't worry guys this will be (hopefully) the longest post u will ever see me write.
DEATH!
1st of August. Everyone knows this day as Emancipation Day. Well, on this day my Grandmother was emancipated from the struggles of life here on earth. It kinda is not cool to be awoken to such news but i took it in stride, got all responsible and took the initiative to call the most sensitive one in the family - My sister. No one else really wanted to break the news to her because we knew she would not be able to make it back out here for the funeral, which would just kill her even more. Her being the first Grandchild of Joyce Taylor really didn't help that much :S. Ok so me and my 2 brothers make it through the rest of the week with all the preparations. I was fine up until my older brother, who in all my 21 years, i have never seen cry, broke down into tears just as he was about to read the rememberance. That was when it got me. That's when i realised that "Momma" was gone as well as the alcohol rubs from head to toe at the first sign of a sniffle.
2nd of August. Work begins (YAY! MONEY!) For all those that don't know I have been working at The Jamaica Cancer Society for the month. Still not sure if i will continue there but that is a story u will read later on in this post :D. By the way, the money i got from that first week was finished the same day i got it :(.
On this day I go to pan as usual and hear the news that my friend Kwame Phidd, an avid booster of my self confidence (yes there are many of u out there working to get me to see what i cannot) killed himself on Sunday. WHAT?!?! He just took his father's shot gun, placed it under his chin and pulled the trigger. WHAT?!?! For all of u that don't know, Kwame was burnt with KFC's hot oil! in March when he was defending his fiance and her friend's honour. At this point, the second day of the month i beg God "Please, No More".
6th of August. Grandmother's funeral :(.
13th of August. My cousin's wedding. BEAUTIFUL!! :) My mother outdid herself with the floral arrangements:) But most importantly this wedding lead me to the realisation that ppl are in need of good help. So here i insert my ad: IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A BRIDESMAID WHO WILL SMILE THROUGHOUT THE CEREMONY AND NOT LOOK BORED AT THE PROCEEDINGS CALL SIMONE GREEN! REQUIRED...FREE DRESS (must look good) AND SHOES, JEWELLERY IS A BONUS:).
14th of August. Kwame's funeral :(. This was my first and hopefully last trip out to Dovecot. Here's a hint guys, if it starts to rain during the funeral service, especially if it is a heavy downpour, do not venture out to Dovecot unless u have shoes on that u r willing to THROW AWAY! This red mud is NOT cool. It was so horrible out there that one lady decided to SAVE her shoes and go barefoot. Noelle and i took our chances with our shoes. We also noticed that we mourned the dead in a very old-fashioned way. We observed as another burial was going on, it was in fact a mini session. Ladies, wear an extremely short skirt to the funeral, come down on a mini bus wid u bag a friend dem, mek di bus driva play song like "Tuck in yu belly" an' ben ova an start fi wine. Men, hang outside mini bus window and call out to any female u see walking past. U may even dance with the ones outside the bus. Just have fun! that's what we came for. Right?? :S
19th - 21st of August. Finally!! The long awaited weekend has arrived! Friday night started off a bit shaky but we managed to pull it off and receive a call for encore! That was a big boost to our confidence especially since all we were getting from the months b4 was CUSSING! Saturday night was much smoother, but the audience was a bit quieter than expected from their size. My cousin was in this group and he said he was not happy. He wanted to come up on stage and dance with us cause we were having so much fun and he was stuck in a chair. However this feeling started during "Workout" and he did not want to be thrown out and not get to see the rest of the concert. (my cousins can get very rowdy when ready, thank God he didn't follow this feeling). The Sunday performances were the best and even though we went back into the 8 o'clock show feeling very tired we managed to pull it off with even more energy. All in all the concert was GREAT!!
BIG UP TO MY DOUBLE SECONDS! DUN KNOW THE RICHIE-APPROVED SECTION - BEAUTIFUL!!
BIG UP THE BASHMENT BASSES THAT ENSURED THAT THE CROWD WAS KEPT ENTERTAINED AT ALL TIMES.
BIG UP ROSEMARIE MURRAY!! SHE PUT HER ALL INTO THAT SCRIPT AND KEPT THE SHOW RUNNING SMOOTHLY.
Thanx to everyone in the band, all the late night practices and the commitment.
27th of August. LIME CAY LYME!! YAY! So we r told to meet at the dock at 9 o'clock. We end up leaving this dock at quarter to 12. At this late stage in the day we expect to find the island packed with ppl. On the contrary, we have the island to ourselves! All 10 of us!! Everyone is told to bring enough food for everybody. The result, more food than we can handle. By itself this lyme sounds great, but one cannot be anywhere in Jamaica without a little mix-up. So we were treated to our own little Soap Opera. And Confucius says: "When man come to beach with 2 'oman and no jet ski, man will lose 2 'oman to those who 'ave jet ski." This poor guy sat for an hour and a half twiddling thumbs, smoking cigarettes, looking lost and confused as his girls went missing on the backs of 2 jet skis driven by men who offered them 'rides'. They even ended up with phone numbers. WHAT A PIECE OF WICKEDNESS!
Finally my future: I still don't know about this one but i'll tell u what i know.
Upper Second Class Degree - YAY!
Accepted into Med to pursue MBBS - YAY!
Not in Gov't quota, (just missed it i'm told by someone on the inside) so have to pay 1 million dollars. NB. the entire fee for the 5 years would come up to 7 million dollars. (That is a lot of night work, guys, i can't afford it.)
Trini is 2nd choice,(Dentistry) but Mona did not send off my documents in time.
So extended summer work until December (if needed, i can cut it any time.)
There u have it guys. More than u bargained for. U can read it in pieces or all at once. But for now u r UP-TO-DATE!!!
This was actually written on August 30th and eaten by microsoft internet explorer. It had to be rewritten. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I will not tolerate long pauses like this again!!

My condolensces on both.

My eyes are hurting due to the colour thing especially since on a white background. Think of your reader-ship when selecting your palate.

Twice the money if you whore at night and legit work by day. Whoring doesn't require you to be awake during, though it is helpful in keeping the money since they make take it back as you sleep.

Congrats on med. You and Nicki would have been in class together. she decided to try. Congrats on upper second. Go Trini and then transfer back for 2nd year.

Just commenting on the things I haven't already said to you:

1. Colourful blog... literally.

2. I'm surprised you've only made one trip to Dovecot. I've been there... 4 or 5 times now, all for family members. The last time we were burying probably my favourite uncle, and at the same time there were 3 other burials going on. On of them included a marching band with cheerleaders and a stretch limo hearse, bringing true meaning to the phrase 'celebration of the life of...' And it was rainy then too, and many a shoe was dirty.

3. I LOVE the Confusious quote, mad funny! I heard the story of the poor man last nite and almost died. But if it were me I woulda left their asses there after waiting for half hour.

4. Bridesmaid request will be added to file. May need one soon.

5. Screw Trinidad, you're staying with me... I mean 'us' :-)
